When submitting your own letters the tool uses the Scrabble word list which is more inclusive than the NYT word list, so many displayed words will not be accepted by the Spelling Bee puzzle. In nearly all cases every word that is accepted by the Spelling Bee puzzle will be displayed. The "Today's Puzzle" feature fetches the actual answers from the current online puzzle.
